Give the Gift of Dance
Brown Girls Do Ballet® is a division of Brown Girls Do™, Inc, a registered 501(c)3 committed to promoting diversity in the arts by providing annual scholarships, a mentor network, and community programs to empower young girls. Our mission is supported by merchandise sales and fundraisers. It's with your interest and commitment that we have achieved recognition from The Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, and the Washington Post, to name a few.
To date, Brown Girls Do Ballet has been primarily internally funded, with a small amount of operating income coming from art and merchandise sales and event donations. Thanks to your interest in our mission, our organization, has grown from a photography project to an organization providing support, resources and training that increase participation of underrepresented minority populations in ballet programs. We are excited about our success and what the future holds, but we need your help.
We are launching a donation campaign for the months of July & August. Our fundraising goal of $10,000 will fund our College Scholarship program, our annual calendar, operating costs, (such as our website, printing and shipping), Brown Girls Do Ballet program support (such as our mentors and ambassador programs), merchandise and The Recital, our annual fundraising event.
If you care about the arts and would like to see Brown Girls Do Ballet continue to highlight and celebrate diversity in ballet, please donate. Our fundraiser goes until the end of August, but if only 2% of our Instagram followers gave $5, we’d exceed our goal today. Our organization relies on your generous tax-deductible donations to bring you the programming, artwork and merchandise you have come to love.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
